Dr. Carr, who joined the Washington University School of Medicine faculty in 1994 and has held several prestigious medical positions throughout the St. Louis region for multiple decades, continues to be an expert in dementia and memory loss. His research interest is in dementia and medical conditions that impact driving.
Dr. Carr was a Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center clinician at WashU, where he worked on a Memory & Aging Project for 20 years. He continues to serve as a professor of geriatric medicine in the WashU School of Medicine and maintains an outpatient Alzheimer’s practice in the WashU Memory Diagnostic Center.
Other professional titles held by Dr. Carr have included a professor of medicine & neurology and clinical director of neurorehabilitation. He also serves as the medical director for the Rehabilitation Institute of St. Louis.
Responsible for the oversight of Parc Provence’s medical program, Dr. Carr’s primary mission is to assist our residents in living a better and more fulfilled life through a groundbreaking dementia care model.
He graduated from the University of Missouri School of Medicine, completed his residency in internal medicine at the Michigan State University Hospitals and later completed a geriatrics fellowship at Duke University.
