Associate Medical Director Recognized for Excellence in Service to Older Adults

Parc Provence Associate Medical Director Dr. Lenise Cummings-Vaughn

One of the things that sets Parc Provence apart is the expertise and compassion staff members offer our residents and their families. With years of experience in the complexities of memory care, this team helps each of our residents live their best lives.

This month, we’d like to acknowledge the expertise of our associate medical director, Dr. Lenise Cummings-Vaughn. The contributions she’s made to the field of aging have earned her the 2019 Alene and Meyer Kopolow Award for Excellence in Service to Older Adults, presented by Washington University School of Medicine.

Dr. Cummings-Vaughn joined Parc Provence in 2016. Since then, she has offered medical care to our residents and worked to ensure our community adheres to the highest standards in resident safety. She also keeps our staff abreast of innovations in resident care, a commitment to education that directly benefits our residents.

In addition, Dr. Cummings-Vaughn specializes in geriatric medicine at Washington University, where she is an associate professor in the Division of Geriatrics and Nutritional Science. She also is the medical director for the Stay Healthy Clinic at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.

As a researcher at the university, Dr. Cummings-Vaughn is a clinician in the Memory and Aging Project, which studies intellectual functioning in people as they age. The project, known as MAP, is the clinical research arm of the Knight Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center at Washington University. Dr. Cummings-Vaughn’s involvement in research of this nature puts her at the forefront of the medical and scientific communities’ efforts to understand—and eventually treat—Alzheimer’s disease.

We’re proud of Dr. Cummings-Vaughn and her accomplishments. Everyone in the Parc Provence community, from residents and their families to staff, benefits every day from her commitment to excellence in memory care.

Thanks to Dr. Cummings-Vaughn and the rest of our exceptional team, we truly are Leading the Way in Memory Care. If you’d like to learn more, call 314-697-2081.
